Welcome to

Hildenborough Tennis Club

We are a members-only club with players ranging from pre-schoolers to seniors. Our membership is great value and we have three all-weather courts in match-play condition, with floodlighting available for winter and evening play.
We have a simple on-line court booking system, regularly organised social games, and competitive match play with several teams - and we're always looking for new players.
We are constantly maintaining the courts to ensure that they are always in excellent condition and we encourage you to make use of our updated clubhouse whenever you come down to watch or play.
We offer discounted weekly coaching for junior players as well as for adult Beginners, Rusty Returners, Intermediate and Advanced players. All coaching sessions include balls and floodlighting and are a great way to improve and socialise at the same time.
We welcome players of all standards to our sociable and family-friendly club - see you on court.

HTC Risk Assessment

Document Name HTC Annual Risk Assessment

Assessor:  Paula Carey

Date of Assessment 15 February 2020

Venue Hildenborough Tennis Club, Riding Lane, Hildenborough, Kent

Fire risk is minimal due to no gas supply, no smoking and no naked flames in the club house. The greatest risk is that of an electric fan fire, so a fire blanket is provided.

Appropriate external lighting is provided to ensure safety. A barrier fence has been erected around the perimeter of the courts and rain channels protect water from entering the club house.

Risk to individuals is minimised by maintenance of playing surfaces to the highest possible standards and ensuring that coaches are appropriately qualified to provide a safe environment. Coaches are required to apply their professional skills to be continually aware and email the Club Committee in order to raise any issues which they consider to present a risk to those playing tennis at the club.

It is the members’ responsibility to assess whether the conditions are safe for the activities they intend before entering the club, and to be aware that that they are responsible for the safety and welfare of their guests.

A path has been constructed from the entrance to the recreation ground.to prevent mud being walked onto the courts.

All incidents should be recorded in the accident book in the clubhouse

First aid equipment is available at the club which is monitored and refreshed as required by a specified member on an ad hoc basis.

Risk assessment is an ongoing responsibility of every member, and it is expected that if any member perceives a risk to be present they will inform a member of the Committee as soon as possible, in order that it can be discussed and addressed as deemed necessary. Equally, if an accident or incident involving injury takes place at the club, a member involved should email This email address is being protected from spambots.
